Video Game Development-AP Computer Science Principles

Credits: 4.5 per year (1.5 per trimester)

Pre-Requisite: Algebra I or higher; STEM-related classes
Program Description: The Video Game Development program is designed to teach students to create video games using trigonometry and higher math, compter programming in C#, as well as 2D and 3D animation. This course will prepare students with the preliminary skills necessary for the video game industry's need for qualified video game programmers and artists.
Year 2 option is available with instructor permission.
High School Credit Equivalencies: 1.5 - Technical/3rd Year Math; 3.0 - CTE

Students who successfully meet course competencies and earn a grade of C or better may be eligible for the following college credits:
Clover Park Technical College - up to 5 credits
Bates Technical College - up to 5 credits
Pierce College - up to 5 credits
Students will take the Computer Science Principles Advanced Placement exam
Certifications: Unity, First Aid/CPR (if time allows)
