Medical Assistant

Grade Level: 11 to enter into this program - this is a two-year program

Credits: 4.5 per year

Dates: Year-Long, Two-Year Program

Pre-Requisite: Biology or other lab science class

Program Description: The two-year Medical Assistant program will train students on back office medical procedures, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and lab procedures. Students will also learn how to intake patients, record vital signs, prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician, collect and prepare laboratory specimens and tests, and perform venipuncture, blood work, and patient positioning. Students will participate in clinical training in hospitals, clinics, and doctors’ offices. Private transportation is required for clinicals. Program fees apply. Program Requirements:  Must be a Junior to enroll in this two-year certificate program and be able to pass a criminal background check.

Program Fees: Scrubs - $40-$50; Medical Assistant Testing Fee - $160, Medical Assistant License State Application Fee - $145 (2023-24 rates, subject to change)
