Credits: 4.5 per year (1.5 per trimester)

Pre-Requisite: None - STEM-related classes recommended
Program Description: The Fire Science and Emergency Services program is designed to prepare students for a careers as a firefighter and other emergency services careers such as EMT, fire investigator, and building investigator. Students will learn academic requirements associated with being a firefighter. Students will use industry firefighting equirment such as hoses, turnout gear, SCBAs, and a working fire engine. Program fees apply.
Year 2 option available with instructor permission.
High School Credit Equivalencies: 1.5 - Fitness & Conditioning Activities; 3.0 - CTE

Students who successfully meet course competencies and earn a grade of C or better may be eligible for the following college credits:
Bates Technical College: up to 15 credits

Certifications: Incident Command Systems (multiple certifications); First Aid/CPR and Bloodborne Pathogens
